My Current Faves As Seen On The Beauty Butterfly

Towards the start of March I wrote a guest post for Jade who writes the fabulous blog titled 'The Beauty Butterfly' which you can find here. As some of you may not follow Jade's blog (if you don't, then why not?!) I have decided to post it here as well to share my current favourite products with you guys,  my lovely fairy followers!

First of all is my Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser. This Moisturiser is fab. It is very lightweigh, oil free and it prevents spots and blemishes. I picked this up from my local Superdrug for under £2 and would recommend it to everyone. If you have problem skin you can build up the moisturiser overnight to help get rid of the blemishes, or like me you can use it just to help prevent getting any.

Next is my ELF Golden Bronzer. This is from their Studio bronzer range and there is 3 to choose from. There is Warm Bronzer, Cool Bronzer and this Golden Bronzer. I use this as a highlighter as I find it far too light (even for my ridiculously pale skin) to use as a bronzer.

It has the 4 different colours which you can use individually to do some contouring or you can use them all together to highlight your cheeks and even your brow bone. It comes with a handy mirror in the lid, perfect for on the go make up! I love using this on my cheeks and also a little on my forehead when I am doing make up which is a little heavy on the bronzer just to soften it and give it that sun kissed look.
I have tried many highlighters and for the price you pay I find this brilliant for an everyday glowy highlighter which you can replace easily by not breaking the bank at just £3.50. This product will last you months and ELF usually have some form of discount or free shipping on their website so it works out cheaper!

I have only recently discovered that you can order from the MUA website which is just A-mazing to me as my local Superdrug does not stock MUA and I have to go into my nearest city and to be honest I very rarely go there at the moment. Whilst I was doing my massive MUA order I thought I would give the Waterproof Eyeliner a go. I always opt for waterproof eyeliner as my eyes are quite prone to running for no apparent reason so I tend to play safe with the waterproof.

When I tried this out for the first time I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The brush is actually plastic and is so easy to control. The line it creates is quite thin which I prefer as I can always go over it to create a thicker line. With the brush you can get really close to your lash line for a more clean look

The finish is quite glossy and sharp, if I want a softer look I just put a small about of black or dark grey eyeshadow over the top to make it more matte and soften it out. The only downfall of this liner, I would say that, for me, it doesn’t work well under the eye or in my water line, other than that it is perfect! The best thing about this liner is that is costs £1, you just can’t get an eyeliner like this for the same price.

To set my make up I go to the good old faithful MAC Fix+ spray which I just find a god send. I have tried the Urban Decay make up setting spray and found it didn’t come close to this one from MAC. One thing I love about MAC is the packaging is so simple and clean cut. What I like about the packaging on the Fix+ spray is you just twist the cap and press the top to release the spray, it couldn’t be easier.

Fix+ costs £12.50 and it is worth every penny. It really does do what it says on the tin and fixes your make up so it lasts for hours! This is definitely one of those staple items you need in your make up collection no matter how big or how small. I could not live without my Fix+, especially when I am going on a night out and I need that little bit more longevity in my make up. The product feels very wet when you first spray it onto your face but it dries within seconds. One thing I would advise is to wait for your mascara to completely dry if you are using it at the end of doing your make up, I tend to squint quite badly when spraying it onto my face so I have to avoid having mascara all under my eyes.

I hope you have all enjoyed reading and maybe you will try out some of the products I have talked about. Let me know what you think by posting a comment in the box below.

Enjoy your day

An Update On Where I Have Been, Where I Am And Where I Am Going!

Hi Guys and Girlies!

Just a quick update ...

As some of you may have noticed, I have been away from my laptop rather a lot lately. This is due to the fact I am in the process of moving house.

It is proving to be more stressful than I first thought as the previous owner of the house left it in an absolute, vile mess in which we have had to clean out, filling a huuuuuuge skip full of their junk!

Who leaves boxes of newspapers under the stairs honest?!

After we have moved in at the weekend I am then off to Manchester for 2 weeks to train for my new job in one of the local banks. Therefore, my Blogging may be a little slack during this period. I am hoping to write loads of posts at the weekend before I go and upload them every couple of days ... how successful I am at this ... only time will tell!

So I guess this is a short post to apologise if you feel I have disappeared off the face of the earth, I shall be back soon and hopefully on Twitter even sooner!

Enjoy your day!

MUA Blusher

Image Ref: MUAstore.co.uk
The hype around MUA is never ending and the brand just keeps producing high end quality products at ridiculously low prices. I love the fact that, still, most products are £1 and you definitely get your moneys worth.

If you have seen my haul post from Friday you will have seen that I purchased the MUA Blusher in Shade 6. This was my first blusher purchase from MUA and I am extremely impressed. Shade 6 is more of a plum colour but it has a gold shimmery undertone to it which really highlights your face and in the sunshine it looks amazing.

From the picture here the blusher looks quite dark but do not fear, for I put a little more on than you would your face as I wasn't sure how it would photograph.

As I am about as pale as one person could ever be without being Albino, at first I wasn't sure if I had bought the right shade for me. Once I had taken it home and had a little play about that night I decided I was in LOVE and this blusher is just gorgeous with the gold shimmer in that I will definitely be repurchasing this as soon as (if not before) it runs out.

I really like the simple packaging and straight away you can see what you are getting which is fab if you doing your make up in a hurry. The actual texture of the blusher is GORGEOUS, it has a very silky, smooth texture which, when you are applying to your face, just feels like it is gliding on.

Another fab thing about this blush is that it blends so easily and it is such a versatile product as it highlights certain areas as well as giving you a lovely colour on your cheeks.

Overall I am super super impressed with this blush and I will definitely be repurchasing this along with every other shade MUA offer. At just £1 you cannot go wrong. One downfall, I would say is that before I got mine home half of it has smashed which I was disappointed with but like I said, at £1 it is a steal.

If you haven't tried anything from MUA yet, I urge you to go out and but this blush it's just gorgeous.

Enjoy your day!

Shopping Haul .. MAC, MUA, Primark

As the weather wasn't too bad yesterday, I decided to go to my local city and see what bargains I could pick up. My main priority was make up but I also had a Primark gift card left over from Christmas which I wanted to use up.

My first stop was to Superdrug to see what MUA and Sleek bargains I could pick up. I was hoping they would have the MUA BB cream but to my disappointment they didn't have it. Also that particular Superdrug does not stock the MUA palettes. I did pick up the pressed powder in Shade 1, the Eyebrow pencil in Brunette, the Nail Varnish in Shade 16 (I had ordered it online but when it arrived it had no brush attached. I had sent MUA an e-mail telling them this but I had no response but I thought for £1 it is no great loss), and the blusher in Shade 6 which had conveniently smashed before I got it home.

Image Ref : MUAstore.com
Even though I tried SO hard to avoid Debenhams and the MAC counter, I heard it calling my name and I just HAD to go inside. Staring at all of the beautiful colours, this one stood out for me. It is Pink Venus and I love it. It is a light pink colour with some silver sparkles. It is beautiful and I know this will now be my go to eyeshadow on a daily basis!

Once I had decided to purchase the eyeshadow I quickly ran out of Debenhams as I knew I would spend FAR too much money on the other counters.

Moving on to the cheaper side of the city, I headed to Primark where I picked up some pretty good stuff. I had £23 left on a giftcard from Christmas and I wanted to spend it soon as it would be hanging around in my purse for MONTHS otherwise.
Usually I go into Primark and see one or two items I like and that's it, not yesterday, apparently Primark were having a 'let's have lots of nice things so Jazmine buys them' day!
I was very strict with myself and came out with only a few things. I bought sunglasses, face wipes and a orange and mango smoothie candle. Also you will see the Aussie shampoo and contidioner which I picked up from Superdrug at 2 for £6.99.

Also from Primark I bought a pair of hot pink chinos and a Barbie top. Now as you may know I am a lover of all things pink. Well my love of Barbie is just as great. Anything Barbie I must have ... some may see that as slightly odd for a 22 year old but in my eyes, she can do no wrong! I was super happy when I found this top and I know I will be wearing all the time!

Please excuse messy looking room ... it's really not that bad!
I am sure I bought a couple of other things but really can't remember what they were.
That was my shopping trip and my purchases which I am very happy about! I am sure I will be reviewing some of the stuff I bought but if you want me to review anything specific you see on this page just leave a comment below and I will see what I can do =D

I am off to go watch Disney Heros and Princess' on Ice now!
Ciao for now,
Jazmine

17 Blemish Balm

The Beauty Balms/Blemish Balms or BB creams as they are known have literally taken the western world by storm! The creams started with the Asian market and I believe are about to take over the world.
The BB creams claim to have oil control, even out your skin tone and give you more coverage than a tinted moisturiser without being too heavy. All of this sounded to good to be true to me so I finally jumped on the old bandwagon and I decided to purchase the 17 Blemish Balm. The reason I chose this particular brand is that all you hear about at the moment is the MUA or Garnier ones, so I thought I would choose one not everyone is talking about. In hindsight I did think to myself that maybe this wasn't such a good idea as there may be a reason for this!

At a first glance I thought the Beauty Balm was packaged lovely and had a very modern and elegant design on the front. The Shade I chose was Light and I have reluctantly put a before and after picture below.

(Please excuse the no make up picture and the sticky out bit of hair on the second).

The first couple of time I used this I wasn't too impressed with the coverage as I thought it was only a light coverage and I prefer something a little heavier. After taking these pictures and staring at them for a good 10 minutes as I pondered as to whether to upload them or not I decided that I do actually like the BB coverage and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

The 17 Blemish Balm is a little heavier than I first anticipated but I suppose that is all the good stuff in it. I would say this particular BB cream gives you a medium coverage. As you can see from the picture, it has evened out my skin tone very well.

To be honest, even though I have been wearing the BB cream, I am unsure as to whether I will be repurchasing this purely for the fact I do prefer more coverage. I am extremely happy with this product though and would recommend this BB cream to anyone wanting a lighter cover for the summer.

One thing I was disappointed with was the Blemish Balm claims to give you oil control but I found myself even more oily in the areas which I am affected by.

Overall I am pleased with the result of the BB cream but I may have to try another brand as my oily patches have been even more noticeable. If you have normal to dry skin this would be a fab spring/summer product to replace your normal foundation with if you want something less heavy.

Enjoy your day!

The 20 Follower Giveaway WINNER

If you have been following my blog for a while you will know I have been running a giveaway. I decided to run this until I had 20 followers. I would just like to say that I did not run this to get my first lot of followers, I wanted to celebrate getting my first few followers with those who were lovely enough to click that button.

Like a lot of bloggers who run giveaways I used random.org to choose the winner, the number that it generated was number 8.

I decided the best way to give each follower a number was to write each person down as they appeared in my followers list.

Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch Nail Polish

I felt I had to pay tribute to this polish by doing a post for it all on it's own!. I first heard about this polish, watching one of the videos Louise a.k.a Sprinkle of Glitter had uploaded on to her channel on YouTube which you can find here.

The video was all about glittery looking nails (always a winner for me) and graduated glitter.
This polish stood out for me as I liked the different sized and coloured pieces of glitter. The polish has a clear base with small silver glitter particles then larger blue and pinky/purple pieces.

As soon as I saw the video I knew I had to go and buy this polish as I love anything glittery and this just fit the bill nicely. Being Miss Sporty I was unsure as to whether it would be a good polish or not but at Louise's recommendation I thought I would give it a go. I then thought if I didn't like the polish it wouldn't matter as at £1.99 it is really good value.

Left Hand Nail = 1 Coat, Right Hand Nail = 2 Coats

Needless to say I love this polish and I have not taken it off since I purchased it. The polish has featured in my NOTD post here. As you can see demonstrated on my handy nail wheel, you can build up the glitter to achieve the depth you wish.

I think for anyone who is able to purchase this polish that you must add this to your polish collection ASAP! It is absolutely fab and at £1.99 it is a steal. You can create so many looks with the Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch and you will not be disappointed.

The only downside to this product (which is actually a good thing) is that the polish does not budge and I would advise you to invest in some industrial strength acetone when you are ready to remove it as being a glitter polish it is quite resistant to being removed.

Enjoy your day =D

Thomas Sabo Charm Kiss Perfume

Those of you who follow me on Twitter may know that my lovely Boyfriend bought me a charm for my Thomas Sabo bracelet on Friday. I was so excited as I had seen it, fell in love with it and for no reason on Friday morning he bought it for me from the Thomas Sabo website.

It arrived yesterday and I love it! It has a crown, a ring with a pink stone and a heart which has the word princess engraved with a heart dotting the I.

Image Ref : Thomas Sabo Website here.
I frantically opened the box and found the usual booklet with all the lastest jewellery, the leaflet full of charms  along with the usual gorgeous little pouch and the charm box. (I am trying to think of a use for the little boxes so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know in the comments.) Also with all of these I found this ...

It is a sample of the Thomas Sabo Chocolate Kiss perfume. I have been intrigued about this perfume ever since I saw it as it claims to be 'A luscious chocolate, champagne and strawberry kiss.' Now I love all of those three things, but to smell like them, this concept just seems a little odd to me.

The first thing that struck me was how well packaged the sample was, Thomas Sabo have gone to a great effort with making the packaging eye catching, even for a sample.

The inside is just as beautifully presented as the outside with all the images, I just love it.

Now on the the actual scent. I was so surprised when I first sprayed this onto my wrists as I did that thing where you put it on smell it then leave it for a while then smell it again,(please tell me you do this as well and it's not just me) and it actually smelt of chocolates and strawberries! I must admit I couldn't smell a hint of champagne but I am quite glad as the perfume doesn't have that really strong alcohol smell when you first apply it like most perfumes have.

Once the perfume had settled I smelt my wrist again and this time I could mainly smell the   chocolate. I wouldn't say this is a bad thing but do I really want this from a perfume?! I usually go for fresh scented perfumes so this is a little out of my comfort zone. I wouldn't even say the Chocolate Kiss smells sweet, as the chocolate scent takes away from this a lot.

It is definitely a lovely smelling fragrance and something that I have not smelt before as a perfume. I would recommend buying something else in the Charm Kiss range first to test the scent out first as the perfume is £44.95 for 50ml and I think if you were disappointed it would be a lot of money wasted.

They do some great products for you to test out the scent such as the Charm Kiss lipgloss Balm for £10.45 (I think this would be lush) and the Shower Cream for £17.95. I think these would be a worthwhile investment before you went ahead and bought the perfume.

Overall a lovely fragrance but one that would not suit everybody. I personally am on the fence with this one, it is a great scent but I am still undecided as to whether it is for me. I do however love the packaging and being Thomas Sabo, they can do no wrong in my eyes and I know there will be people out there that will buy this and never look back!

Enjoy your day!

My Lipstick/Lipgloss collection

First of all I would like to say that I have not chosen this post as a way to brag about what I have or even to moan about what I don't have. I wanted to see just what colours I had in my lip collection and thought I would share it with you. I personally do not think I have a large collection of make up and my lip products are what I have the most of. What you will find is that most of the products in this post are very low end and I probably only have one or two high end products in my collection.

This is my total collection, I hasten to add I am moving house soon and I intend on having a proper vanity table with proper drawers for storage so this is just a temporary measure.

I decided to separate my collection into different colours to see what I have, as quite frankly I tend to go to the same products each time and there are a lot I haven't used for ages. I have picked out my 2 favourite colours from each group to show you!

This group is my clear/very very light lip products. In this I have a couple of 17 minis, 17 lipstick in Shell and a sun protection balm for your lips. My 2 favourites are the Miss Guided Lipsplash and the 17 lipstick in Shell. What I love about the Miss Guided lipsplash, which i totally forgot about, is the smell! It reminds me of the Soap & Glory Mother Pucker lipgloss, it is like a chocolatey orange smell which I adore. I got this lipgloss ages ago free with a magazine. The 17 lipstick is a fab colour, it is a very very light pink, almost white shimmery colour which looks fab with a smokey eye. Unfortunately I couldn't take a photo of the swatch as it wasn't showing up.

This group is my light pinks. If you have read previous posts of mine, you will know that I am obsessed with the colour pink and I love having pink lips. In this group I have a couple of products from ELF, my YSL Pink Diamond and the MUA Out There plumping gloss in Candy Pink.

My 2 favourite light pink products are the Lush! Celebrate Lip Tint and the Revlon ColorStay Liquid Lipstick in 004 Prime Pink. The ColorStay Liquid Lipstick is a gorgeous candy pink colour and I have written a review on these lipsticks here. The Lush! Lip Tint is a gorgeous shimmery colour that gives your lips just a hint of a pinky colour. The tint lasts quite a long time and I would say you need to reapply every couple of hours.

This group is my hot pinks. Unfortunately the colours did not come out as well as I would have hoped in these pictures. In this group I have my Barbie lipbalm in Bubblegum, my GHD lipgloss which I got as a free gift with my straightners and a mini 17 lipgloss.

My 2 favourites here are one in which I have lost the lid therefore it is unidentifiable, I do know the colour is called Cosmo and it is a gorgeous creamy deep pink colour. The other is a mini 17 lipgloss which doesn't have a name or a shade on the tube but it is a gorgeous pink with gold sparkly particles in (always a winner).

This is my group of reds and purples. I have more purples than I first thought, I think this may be an indication that this is my least favourite lip colour. I have more mini 17 lipglosses, a couple of Playboy ones and a Chilli Pepper one.

My 2 favourites are my trusty Revlon Colorstay Liquid Lipstick in Stellar Sunrise and believe it or not a Playboy one. The ColorStay is pretty self explanatory by now, you can all pretty much guess that I am a HUGE  fan of them. The Playboy lipgloss is surprisingly well pigmented and stay on a long time. The only downside to them is that they are quite sticky.

Finally we get to the browns and nudes! Next to light pinks, these are my favourite colours to wear. In this little lot I have another Revlon ColorStay Liquid Lipstick, MUA Out There plumping gloss and my NYX lipgloss which I have a review for here.

My 2 favourites are my Accessorize lipgloss and my NYX lipgloss. The Accessorize is a gorgeous bronze colour with big pieces of gold shimmer is and the NYX is more of an orangy colour with small silver shimmer in it.

Well there you go my whole lip collection, like I said, I am not doing this to show off what I had, I just wanted to go through my collection and re-introduce products in to my life and take you along with me =D

I hope you enjoyed!
See you soon

Bourjois Volume Glamour MAX Definition

Today I will be reviewing the Volume Glamour MAX Definition Mascara from Bourjois. I am a massive fan of Bourjois mascara and over the years I have always come back to buying them after trying something new.

I managed to pick up this mascara from Boots a couple of weeks ago for £4.99 it was half price so I couldn't leave this on the shelf, I HAD to have it.

I love the design of the tube, as you can see from the picture above it is narrow at the top then it curves out and goes back in about half way down.

The wand is plastic and on one side has shorter bristle type things than the other which is perfect for getting close to the lash line and doing your bottom lashes. Also you can get right into the corners of your eyes to coat the corner lashes that are sometimes hard to reach.

I have taken a before and after photo for you to see what the product looks like. I didn't curl my lashes before hand as I wanted to give you a true indication of how the product works and how it makes your lashes look.

I personally cannot fault this mascara and think it is brilliant! I wouldn't say it is my favourite Bourjois mascara but it is definitely within the ones I like.

Let me know your favourite mascaras, just leave a comment below!
